2009 Doddridge County Fair Queen

Kayla Mitchell

Kayla Ann Mitchell was crowned the Doddridge County Fair Queen on August 19, 2009. She was also runner-up for the Spirit of Doddridge County Award. Her reign over the fair was a busy and exciting time where she judged car shows and art exhibits, handed out trophies at the demolition derby and antique car show, got to meet the live entertainment Love & Theft, and mingled with those visiting the fair.

Kayla is the 20 year old daughter of David and Carla Mitchell of West Union. She was a 2008 graduate of Doddridge County High School and is a junior at West Virginia University where she is majoring in Pre-Pharmacy and will be applying to Pharmacy school in the winter of 2010. When she has time away from classes and studying, Kayla is a member of the American Student Pharmacists organization, volunteers at Ruby Memorial Hospital, and enjoys cheering on the Mountaineers at athletic events.

As the Doddridge County Fair Queen, Kayla participated in the Doddridge County Homecoming Parade, the Salem Apple Butter Festival Parade, represented the fair at the State Fairs & Festivals Pageant, and travels to other fairs and festivals as visiting royalty to promote our fair.
