CHILDREN’S PHOTO CONTEST

DODDRIDGE COUNTY FAIR

August 10^th will be this year’s deadline for entries in the children’s photo contests at the Doddridge County Fair. Photos, no larger than 8x10, are judged before the fair, and will remain on display through Saturday of fair week. Many people have enjoyed the photos during the past 18 years and look forward to seeing them each year. There are two separate contests.

For the Photogenic Baby and Child Picture Contest, photos must have been taken since August 1, 2006. Photos will be entered in the proper age category 0-7. Entry fee is $3, with only one photo per child accepted.

In the 21 Category Children’s Picture Contest, the child(ren) in the picture must have met the age requirement when the photo was taken. You may enter several photos, but only one in each category. Entry fee is $2 per picture. For the Fair Theme category, this year’s theme is described a “Spice Up Your Life At The Doddridge County Fair Where It’s Soooooo Hot, Hot, Hot!”

1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place ribbons will be awarded in both contests in each category. Trophies will be given to four overall winners in the photogenic contest. All other entrants will receive participation ribbons.

Entry forms with complete contest rules are available on the fair website at www.doddridgecountyfair.com, by emailing childrensphotocontest@doddridgecountyfair.com, or at the WVU Doddridge County Extension Office, Debbie Matheny, 873-1801.

You may deliver your photos to the Extension Office in the basement of the courthouse, or mail them to 118 E Court Street, Room B2, West Union WV 26456. Please direct any questions or comments to Sheila McMillan, Committee Chairman, 873-1742.
